What is Night Owls?

Night Owls of Gastonia is what you want it to be.  It's safe to say that the majority of our members and guests are gay.  We do have "straight" members and guests who love to visit our club for the music, to dance, and enjoy our great drinks and shows.  At Night Owls we do not put labels on anyone and everyone is welcome to join us.

How old do I have to be to get into Night Owls of Gastonia?

Night Owls operates in full compliance of North Carolina State ALE Laws.  Therefore, you MUST be 18 years of age or older to enter.  You must provide valid photo id upon entering the bar. .

Do I need a driver's license or ID card to get into Night Owls?

Absolutely.  We require you to provide us with a valid state or government issued ID card.  It must also have your photograph on it.  We will accept a driver's license, a state issued DMV identification card, a military ID, or a passport.  ID's must be current.  No expired forms of identification will be accepted.  If your ID card has expired, even though your information is correct, we can not accept it per North Carolina State Law! College IDs are not accepted as a form of id.

Everyone, both members and guests, MUST provide a valid photo ID card to get inside.  There are no exceptions to this rule.

Do you have an ATM inside of Night Owls?

Although we do not have an ATM, we can give you a trouble free cash advance on your debit card along with a purchase ($50 max cash advance).  Just see the bartender(s) on duty.  They will be happy to assist you.

Is Night Owls a safe environment?  Will I feel secure there?

Have no fear!  Night Owls of Gastonia takes pride in being among the safest night clubs in the country.  Our staff is dedicated to your safety while you're a guest with us.  If you're bothered by anyone or feel threatened at any time, let a member of the staff know.  Night Owls is a "drama-free" club and we want to keep it that way.

What if I visit Night Owls and find that it isn't for me.  Can I get a refund?

No.  Refunds are not possible.  But have no fear, we think you will enjoy the time you spend with us.  Just take some time to get to know the staff members and the cast of Night Owls.  You will be glad you did.

How can I become a member of Night Owls?

Memberships are available for a nominal fee.  Just inquire with a staff member for more information on becoming a member.  Once a member you will enjoy the benefits of membership cover each time you return to our club.

Can I get my membership card the same night I apply for it?

No.  North Carolina law requires a mandatory three day period from the time you apply until you receive your membership card.  We will hold it for you at the front desk until your next visit.  We do not mail membership cards to you.

Does Night Owls have a certain dress code?

Keep it clean!  While it is our best advice to "dress to impress" since you never know who you'll meet, we also want you to be comfortable and relaxed while you're visiting with us.  The standard for our club is clean and casual.

Can I wear shorts and tee-shirts?  What about flip-flops and sandals?

Again, keep it clean.  Please don't wear anything with slogans or pictures that may appear to be offensive or create hostile feelings/cause problems with other customers.  We are an adult establishment and expect our patrons to act as adults.  Flip-flops and sandals are ok, but we do not allow bare feet.  We have your safety in mind.

What about ball caps and other kinds of head gear?

Ball caps and hats are permissible.  We do not allow anything that may appear to be gang related or a gang related symbol.  This includes both men and women.  Keep in mind that large head dresses of any type increases your chances of having it snatched by a drag queen.

I am an entertainer.  How do I get a booking at Night Owls of Gastonia?

We are always looking for fresh and talented entertainers.  If you are wanting to perform in our weekly shows, you need to have the experience to do so.  All experienced entertainers should select the contact us link on this page to inquire about possible bookings.  This holds true for female impersonators, male impersonators, and strippers.  We have limited openings available on our monthly calendar.

Do you have an amateur night for people wanting to become drag performers or male strippers?  I don't have experience, but wish to start performing.

We are pleased to offer open mic night here at Night Owls of Gastonia to any performer, drag or male stripper, who wishes to give our stage a try.  Thursday nights are reserved for this very thing.  The first Thursday of each month is our monthly talent competition.  The winner of this contest each month will go on to compete for Night Owls' Entertainer of the Year title in September.  Talent competitions are open to both female and male impersonators and we select a winner in each category every month.  Our End of the Year pageant will offer a title for both female and male categories. 
All other Thursday nights throughout the month are open to anyone who wishes to perform.  Bring out your best talent be it female impersonation, male impersonation, or male stripper and join in on the fun.  Anyone entering the open mic show must be in the club with music turned in to the show director no later than 10 p.m. that night.  Entertainers who arrive after that time may not be allowed to perform.

I recently saw someone perform at Night Owls and I would like to get in touch with them.  Can you help me out?

No, and that's the final answer!  Sorry, but performers have private lives just like all of us and we respect that.  Our advice to you is to check our calendar page as many of our performers return to the stage here at Night Owls on a regular basis.  You can meet them and talk to them when they return.

Can I rent the club for a private party or event?

Click on the Contact Us link and send an email message to the owners.  Be sure to provide a complete description of your party/function along with dates and your contact information.  Someone will contact you regarding the costs and requirements for hosting a private party or event.  Private parties are booked at the discretion of the owners.

My friends and I are planning a trip to Night Owls, but we really don't want to drive back home in the middle of the night.  Are there any reasonably priced hotels in the area?

Will you call a taxi for me if I have had too much to drink?

You betcha!  Our entire staff wants to make sure that you get to your destination safely.  We are all friends here at Night Owls and believe that "Friends don't let friends drink and drive!"  If you want to be prepared before your visit, phone numbers to taxi services are available on our location page.  (Link to the directions page is available from the home page.)

Can I submit pictures that I made at Night Owls so they can appear on your website?

Sorry, we appreciate the offer, but only pictures made by our staff may appear on the website.  We are unable to publish photos made by our patrons for several reasons, privacy being the main one. 

My photo appears on your website and I would like to have it removed.  How can I get the photo removed?

We understand that people sometimes change their minds about their picture appearing on the website.  Simply email our webmaster (nightowlsofgastonia@gmail.com) and give then a full description of the photo and the page it is on.  When possible, photos are usually removed within 48 hours of receiving the request.  NOTE:  You MUST email in your request in order to have a photo removed.  Verbal communication is not accepted.
